Air France currently expects to carry 15% of Olympic athletes, 35% of Paralympic athletes and 13% of athletes' family members.

As an official partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Air France is revealing the first estimated numbers of passengers it will carry during the world's biggest sporting event.

45 days before the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, based on bookings made at this stage, the company expects to transport 20% of all athletes and para-athletes traveling to Paris and France. 1 in 5 athletes, mainly from Brazil, the United States, Italy and Japan, will fly with Air France.

In terms of the different categories of athletes, the company expects to carry 15% of Olympic athletes and 35% of Paralympic athletes. 13% of the members of the athletes' families, but also members of the National Olympic Committees and the International Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games.

Air France expects to carry up to 125.000 customers a day

In summer 2024, Air France expects to carry up to 125.000 customers per day, equivalent to the volumes of summer 2019. Athletes, delegations and supporters will fly to Paris – France on 24, 25 and 26 July and depart on 11, August 12th and 13th, with peak traffic expected on August 12th. Traffic peaks are also expected during the Paralympic Games in Paris 2024. Supporters of these two competitions, flying with Air France, will arrive mainly from the United States, Great Britain, Italy, Germany and Japan.

Air France announces that all aircraft in its fleet will be airworthy. At the same time, 15 reserve aircraft will be ready to fly in the event that a base aircraft is unavailable. No less than 7 dedicated long-haul aircraft and 8 short-haul aircraft will be in the reserve fleet.

In terms of human resources, Air France has made more than 2.000 recruitments in 2023, including 500 pilots and 400 mechanics with permanent contracts. To return to 2019 activity levels, the hiring of pilots and mechanics will continue in 2024. To cope with the 2024 summer season and the duration of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Air France has strengthened its teams with more than 1.000 additional recruitments on seasonal contracts (800 cabin crew and 250 ground staff).
