Starting with January 2017, the first 10 aircraft Airbus A350-900 Lufthansa will be allocated to the Munich base. Thus, the second Lufthansa hub will be equipped with the latest long-haul aircraft, with the A350 XWB also being an eco-friendly aircraft.

At the same time, Thomas Winkelmann, CEO of Lufthansa Hub Munich, mentions that Delhi and Boston could be the first destinations to which the first A350 XWB Lufthansa aircraft will fly.

The new A350 can carry 293 passengers: 48 passengers in Business Class, 21 passengers in Premium Economy and 224 passengers in Economy Class.

Lufthansa announces that the new A350 XWB will only consume 2,9 liters of kerosene / passenger / 100 for miles traveled, which means a reduction of 25% compared to the models currently used. The latest Rolls Royce Trent XWB engines are even quieter. As a result, the noise generated by the aircraft is up to 50% lower than that of similar aircraft.
