15 airlines from Africa and the Middle East have signed with Amadeus
On 6 December 2017, 15 airlines from the Middle East and North Africa signed a framework agreement with Amadeus. The agreement is signed for 10 years.
GDS Amadeus has signed a framework agreement with 15 airlines in North Africa and the Middle East. The distribution services were negotiated and managed by the Arab Air Carriers Association (AACO).
15 airlines from Africa and the Middle East have signed with Amadeus
According to the official figures of the 15 airlines, they carried over 110 million passengers in 2016, which means that these airlines will be able to carry over 1 billion passengers during the 10 year agreement. In 2008, AACO held talks and signed an agreement with Amadeus for other 13 airlines.
The agreement comes after a process of 18 months, during which AACO representatives carefully evaluated several technology and distribution providers, choosing the one that has the capacity to support the long-term needs of the member airlines. Amadeus vision, technological capabilities and innovative approach were decisive factors.
