2017, a "turbulent" year for KLM

KLM drew the line on 2017 and made a brief presentation of the year. It was a hectic one, but with many achievements due to clients and partners.

As KLM even says, the 2017 was a very busy year. But the Dutch air carrier prides itself on its successes, thanks to its customers and partners.

To make things better, KLM made a presentation video with the most important moment from 2017.

A "turbulent" year for KLM

In 2017, KLM launched flights to 15 new destinations including Graz (Austria); Minneapolis (United States); Malaga (Spain). He has improved services on board his aircraft. The KLM fleet carried over 32 million passengers and over 600 000 tonnes of freight.

KLM is one of the safest airlines in Europe, say aviation-renowned publications. Also in 2017, I learned that King of the Netherlands, Willem-Alexander, was a co-pilot at KLM Cityhopper. It flew on Fokker 70 aircraft, which were withdrawn from the KLM subsidiary fleet.

Also in 2017, following the disaster left by Hurricane Irma, KLM operated a humanitarian flight with Boeing 747-400 to Sint Maarten Island.

KLM also points to how it contributes to environmental protection. Recycles tons of paper and waste resulting from flights.

In 2017, KLM Cityhopper has retired the latest Fokker 70 out of the fleet, but received the 40 Embraer. Also in 2017, KLM transported 2 Giant Panda bears.
