BIAS 2018 - large aviation show with over 150 aircraft

The tenth edition of the most impressive aviation show in Romania is dedicated to the Centenary of Romania and is under the patronage of the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Economy. BIAS 2018 brings together 150 of civilian and military aircraft, in airborne evolutions and exposed to the public, but also over 100 of pilots and paratroopers.

BIAS 2018 is an air force show, in which the civil and military aviation axes of Romania, Turkey, Poland, Hungary, Great Britain, Germany, USA, Greece, Austria, Italy, Spain, Czech Republic and Lithuania will delight the spectators with amazing aerobatics. and elite demonstrations, but also with aircraft exposed to the ground.

Supersonic Turkish Stars

Special guests this year are the "supersonics" Turkish Stars - they represent the Turkish Air Force and are the only team in the world that evolves with 8 supersonic fighter planes.

For the first time in Romania, the "magicians" will participate in the BIAS 2018 White Red Sparks, the acrobatic formation of the Polish Air Force, which evolves with 6 PZL TS-11 Iskra aircraft.

Viewers will be able to watch supersonic F 16 Fighting Falcon, Saab Jas 39 Gripen, F 15 Eagle and Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft evolutions. Among the planes exposed to the public at Baneasa Airport will be the Boeing E-3A Sentry AWACS aircraft, under NATO command.

Romanian Air Forces

The Romanian Air Force stands out at BIAS 2018 with an exceptional participation, which consists of a series of developments for the first time for Romania. Viewers will have the chance to admire the spectacular developments of the professionals of the Romanian Air Force elite, who will perform true artistic demonstrations of supersonic force at the sleeve of the F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft. Also, the ace of the sleeve of the Romanian Air Force will evolve with IAR 316 B, IAK 52, IAR 330 PUMA, C 130 Hercules, and C 27 Spartan aircraft. Viewers will also be able to watch the air police and air raid support exercises.

The show is guaranteed by the presence of the aces of the Romanian Air Force - Hawks of Romania, The Pelicans, White Wings, along with the paratroopers of the Blue Wings band, who will perform the tricolor flag, by 400 sqm.

BIAS NOTHING

During the event, the famous Acrobatic Iacare evolves, unique for their aerial shows that include pyrotechnic effects, music and lights.

Also, at BIAS 2018 the public will be able to admire the exercises performed with skill and pilot safety of the national airline company TAROM.

The participants also include names consecrated from the Romanian aviation elite, from the Higher School of Civil Aviation.

At the BIAS 2018, the famous Lithuanian pilot Jurgis Kairys, multiple world champion in aerobatics, also participates.

Starting with Friday morning, the Băneasa Airport opens, for aviation experts and specialists, the general aviation exhibition - General Aviation Exhibition, where manufacturers and owners of aircraft, as well as general aviation service providers exhibit dozens of civil aircraft, from ultra-light aircraft, up to business jets. Spectators will be able to visit the General Aviation Exhibition on Saturday, July 28.
