Sibiu International Airport has exceeded, for the first time in its history, the 700 000 threshold of registered passengers in a year. Thus, the increase was 31.32% compared to 2017, when it recorded a total traffic of 533 306 passengers.
The increase is largely due to the 8 newly launched routes. It is worth mentioning that in this statistic were included the passengers in transit.
Sibiu International Airport - 700 passengers
Among the routes launched in 2018, we find: Sibiu - Tel Aviv with Wizz Air; Sibiu - Brussels with Wizz Air, Sibiu - Paris with Wizz Air; Bucharest - Sibiu with TAROM and Sibiu - Stuttgart with TAROM.
August from 2018 brought over 85 000 passengers, including those on charter flights.
If we analyze the evolution of the last 3 years, the Sibiu International Airport had an average annual growth of 35%. From 276 000 of passengers registered in 2014 to over 700 000 of passengers registered in 2018, the jump is very high.
