The 25-based Wizz Air was opened in Kutaisi, Georgia

Wizz Air has opened a 25 base from the operational network, in Kutaisi, Georgia. WIZZ has allocated a state-of-the-art Airbus A320 aircraft to Kutaisi Airport and has begun operating seven new low-cost routes to attractive destinations such as Berlin, Dortmund and Munich Memmingen in Germany, Larnaca in Cyprus, Milan in Italy, Sofia in Bulgaria and Thessaloniki in Greece.

With these new destinations, WIZZ now offers NEVER route at a reduced price, towards 8 countries, from Kutaisi. WIZZ also offers 70 destinations from its bases in Budapest, Katowice, Sofia, Vilnius and Warsaw - which will mean Georgia travelers the opportunity to travel throughout Europe at the lowest prices.


The first flight from Kutaisi took off at 2012 and since then over 600.000 passengers have flown to and from Georgia. The WIZZ operations not only provide an advantageous connection between Georgia and the rest of Europe, but also stimulate jobs in the aviation and tourism industries. In 2015, Wizz Air carried more than 125.000 passengers on its Kutaisi routes, which means supporting approximately 100 jobs locally *.

Kutaisi's WIZZ base is an investment of 98 million dollars and will create 36 direct jobs in the company. The Wizz Air local crew is trained to the highest standards - which translates into extraordinary experiences on every WIZZ flight.
