Iberia Líneas Aéreas de España, SA, known as IBERIA, is celebrating 85 years since the first commercial flight. The Spanish operator was born on 28 June 1972, and on December 14 made the first flight between Madrid and Barcelona.
He is currently part of the International Airlines Group and the situation is not rosy. In the fall of this year he made redundancies and considered reducing the fleet. On 25 March 2012, the company Iberia Express, the low-cost division of the International Airlines Group (IAG), part of IBERIA, started operations. Iberia's current fleet counts 99 Airbus aircraft and operates flights to 120 from destinations! It is part of the OneWorld alliance and is based in Madrid (Barajas Airport).
