24 November 2016 will remain in the history of commercial aviation. First Airbus A350-1000 operated successfully the inaugural flight and took an important step towards certification.

Airbus A350-1000 - the first successful flight

The Airbus A350-1000 aircraft (F-WMIL - MSN059) took off at 10:42 from the Airbus base in Toulouse. After 4 hours and 18 minutes, at 15:00 local time, the plane operated the first touchdown.

The test was piloted by Hugues van der Stichel and Frank Chapman, and the flight engineer, Gérard Maisonneuve, oversaw the operations.

Powered by new engines Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97, the aircraft flew in southwestern France. During the flight, Patrick du Ché, Emanuele Costanzo and Stéphane Vaux monitored the flight parameters recorded by the flight instruments.
