The Boeing 777-300ER (B-2040), which operates the Air China CA983 flight, was forced to land in Siberia as a matter of urgency.

The plane was flying on the Beijing-Los Angeles route, and a fire alert was launched over Siberia. The pilots made the quick decision to land at Anadyr Airport, Eastern Siberia, Russia.

There were 188 passengers on board. After landing safely, all occupants of the aircraft were evacuated on the slides. From the first information and fortunately, no injured persons are reported.
