British Airways cancels another 10300 short-haul flights from early August to late October. The decision was taken to stabilize the operational program amid continuing disruptions in the industry. For the most part, British Airways reduces daily frequencies on dozens of routes, which means that affected passengers will be re-routed or given other alternatives.

The latest cuts come just days after British Airways announced the cancellation of 1.000 flights to destinations this summer in Greece, Spain and Portugal from its London hubs.

Long-haul flights are not affected by the latest round of British Airways adjustments. In total, the main British airline has so far changed 13% of its summer schedule.

"The entire aviation industry continues to face significant challenges and we are fully focused on increasing resilience in our operations to give customers the certainty they deserve," a British Airways official said on 7 July 2022.

The carrier is also facing the threat of strikes at London Heathrow (LHR), the main hub. Ground service providers voted for the strike, while check-in staff from two unions also voted in favor of the strike.
