On October 3, Wizz Air announced eight routes from Jordan, in agreement with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. Specifically, these are flights from Aqaba and Amman, starting with December 15, 2021. Among the new routes announced is Bucharest - Aqaba, a seasonal route. The other routes will be: Budapest-Amman, Milan-Amman, Rome-Amman and Vienna-Amman; Budapest-Aqaba, Rome-Aqaba and Vienna-Aqaba.
The agreement includes marketing campaigns and Wizz Air is expected to transport up to 167 tourists to Jordan in its first year of operations. Jordan's Minister for Tourism and Antiquities, Nayef Hmeidi Al-Fayez, said the ministry is confident the airline will have a major impact on increasing the number of tourists.
