Budapest - Bucharest and Budapest - Cluj, with AirConnect!
Budapest Airport expanded its route network with the inauguration of flights from Romania. From March 28, AirConnect will fly from Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca to Budapest. Operating twice weekly connections to both cities in Romania, the country's newest airline has chosen the Hungarian capital to be among its first destinations. AirConnect will use ATR 72-600 model aircraft.
While the Romanian carrier faces competition at both operations, its arrival in the market complements established services, with Budapest now offering 13 weekly connections to the Romanian capital and five weekly flights to the northwestern Romanian city. 2
Chris Dinsdale, CEO Budapest Airport, said: “ It is always a great pleasure to welcome a new airline to our airport. This is deepened when Budapest is among the first airports chosen by the air carrier. We look forward to working with AirConnect to promote both Romania and Hungary as great destinations. "
Tudor Constantinescu, CEO, AirConnect, said: " We are pleased to launch the direct service between Budapest - Bucharest and Budapest - Cluj Napoca, offering an affordable and efficient travel option that facilitates access to the capital of Romania and the heart of Transylvania. We hope that our twice weekly flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays will bring together more people and more cultures."
