Since October 24, Bulgaria has tightened travel rules for tourists. To visit most public places and to stay at the hotel, travelers must present a green digital certificate for complete vaccination and / or the negative result of a PCR test.

The COVID-19 digital certificate must be in Bulgarian or English and show complete vaccination with one of the vaccines approved by Bulgaria. There are also alternatives: green certificate for healing, not older than six months or the negative result of a PCR test not older than 72 hours or the negative result of an antigen test not older than 48 hours.

It is specified that these digital certificates will be required at the entrance to shops larger than 300sqm, malls, restaurants, bars, spas, concert halls and events, theaters, museums, hotels and other public institutions. Instead, you can go without a digital certificate to grocery stores, pharmacies, banks and government agencies, as well as public transport. Tourists under the age of 18 are exempt from presenting the document.
