In a new move, Canada has decided to eliminate COVID-19 tests for fully vaccinated travelers. The new rule will take effect on April 1, 2022. According to reports, the Canadian government has not yet made the news public, but speculation in the international press suggests that the news will be made public soon.

The Canadian government has decided to eliminate the need for a COVID-19 test for travelers entering the country through all three modes of transportation. For those who are partially or unvaccinated, the pre-entry testing requirement will still be in effect.

Canada, like most countries around the world, has gone into isolation and started imposing new restrictions after the outbreak of the Omicron variant of the virus. Now, Omicron seems to be gone.

The federal government in Canada, however, has been more cautious in its approach to easing restrictions compared to provincial governments. Ontario, for example, announced last week that it would remove all pandemic restrictions by the end of April. Similar announcements have been made in Alberta and Quebec.

Canadian air carriers could benefit greatly from this move, as passengers would now be more open to travel to Canada. The difficulty of obtaining a COVID test, even the cost of each test, can be a negative factor for travel.
