Authorities in the Czech Republic have announced that those traveling to the US, Israel, Lebanon, Kosovo, Northern Macedonia and Montenegro who have not been vaccinated or cannot present a certificate stating that they have recovered from COVID-19 , will be subject to strict restrictions on entry into the Czech Republic.

The decision to move the countries from the green list to the dark red list was taken in accordance with the latest data provided by the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and will enter into force today, 23 August.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Health, starting today, unvaccinated and unrecovered travelers arriving from one of the third countries mentioned above must be tested for COVID-19 before entering the territory of the Czech Republic. In addition, everyone is asked to fill in a form on arrival, to isolate themselves as soon as they enter the territory of the Czech Republic and to take a second test after the fifth day of isolation.

These restrictions will not apply to those who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 or recovered from the disease in the last six months.

In addition, unvaccinated and unrecovered travelers arriving from Bulgaria, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Spain (excluding the Balearic Islands) and Switzerland will have to follow the same rules as those arriving from a dark red list area, as the four countries will be moved to the red list. The red list already includes Andorra, Belgium, Denmark, Iceland, Ireland, Lithuania, Estonia, France, Greece, San Marino, Sweden and Portugal.

Moreover, changes have been made to the orange list, where Croatia, Latvia, Malta, the Netherlands and Germany have been added as of today. This means that all those arriving from one of these countries will have to fill in a form on arrival, as well as present a PCR test for COVID-19 upon entry into the country or take a PCR test within five days at the latest. on arrival.
