Denmark has entered the final phase of easing restrictions. Romania has entered the green list!

The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that all European Union and Schengen countries that have been placed on the yellow list will now be moved to the green list and at the same time, countries that have been placed on the orange list will now be moved yellow. According to the Statens Serum Institut, the decision entered into force on 26 June at 16 pm.

The ministry said that based on the new decision, the following countries will be included on green list in Denmark:

  • EU countries and the Schengen Area: Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Croatia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Romania, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Czech Republic, Germany and Austria
  • EU Regions and Schengen Area: Portugal (Madeira) and Spain (Aragon, Asturias, Balearic Islands, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Catalonia, Ceuta, Extremadura, Galicia, Madrid, Melilla, Murcia and Valencia)

All persons arriving in Denmark from one of the countries or regions on the green list will be allowed to enter the country without being subjected to testing or quarantine requirements.

Denmark has entered the final phase of easing restrictions. Romania entered the green list, starting with June 26.

At the same time, the Ministry announced that several other countries have passed on yellow list:

  • European and Schengen countries: Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Portugal (excluding Madeira), San Marino, Spain (excluding green areas) and the Vatican City State
  • Non-EU countries and the Schengen area: Albania, Lebanon, Northern Macedonia, Rwanda and Serbia

Similar to arrivals from countries or regions on the green list, those arriving from one of the countries on the yellow list are exempted from the quarantine requirement. However, they must be tested for COVID-19 on arrival in Denmark.

On the other hand, Denmark continues to maintain strict restrictions on all arrivals from countries red list, high risk. The Danish government has already announced that the country has entered the fourth phase of the gradual reopening of travel activities on 26 June and will fully implement the EU's COVID vaccination passport. It will now be easier for Danes to travel to EU countries and the Schengen area for tourism purposes, provided they have been completely vaccinated against COVID-19, give a negative test result or have previously recovered from the disease.

Denmark is one of the first countries which has started issuing the “EU COVID Digital Certificate”, along with Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland and Greece.
