As of today, February 1, 2022, Denmark has decided to remove all COVID restrictions. The Danes have virtually no restrictions on coronavirus since Tuesday, despite the fact that the incidence remains high. The obligation to wear a sanitary mask is now a thing of the past, as is the presentation of "health permits" which show that the owner has been vaccinated for COVID-19, has recovered from the disease or has been tested and is negative.

The events can take place today without any limit of participants and the partygoers can crowd without mask on the dance floors in the clubs. All this can happen because COVID-19 is no longer considered "critical for society".

Only travelers entering Denmark still need to provide proof of vaccination. The Danish authorities took a similar decision in September, but the measures were gradually reintroduced as cases began to increase.

Over the past week, Denmark has recorded between 33.000 and 47.000 new cases a day, which was hard to imagine before the Omicron variant, with its high level of contagion.

However, the hospitals were not crowded, as there were fears in the past. The high vaccination rate is considered to be the main reason why the health system has been well maintained. Hospitals are encouraged to ask visitors to wear masks and use health permits to protect the vulnerable and the elderly.

"We have passed the critical phase," Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said last week, announcing the imminent lifting of the measures, according to hotnews.ro.
