Travel fully vaccinated against Covid-19 with a vaccine recognized by the European Medicines Agency will no longer provide a negative test to enter France, starting July 17. They must present the vaccination certificate upon entry into the country and their journey is unrestricted. The announcement was made by Prime Minister Jean Castex.

"As vaccines are effective against the virus and, in particular, the Delta variant, the constraints affecting vaccinated travelers (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca or Janssen) will be removed from Saturday, 17 July, regardless of the country of origin", said Matignon in a press release.

France has opened its borders to all vaccinated tourists

According to the French authorities, the vaccination program is now considered complete seven days after the injection of the second dose of Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca or 28 days for people who received the single-dose Janssen vaccine from Johnson & Johnson.

On the other hand, France is strengthening border health checks on those not vaccinated in UK, but also from five countries of the European Union - Spain, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus and the Netherlands - where the Delta version of Covid-19 is making more and more victims. Those wishing to travel to France from these countries will also need to submit a negative PCR or antigen test within 24 hours, compared to 48 hours so far for the United Kingdom and 72 hours for the five European countries.

In addition, travel is discouraged in the countries on the red list, extended to Tunisia, Mozambique, Cuba and Indonesia. Travelers who still have a "good reason" for the trip will have to take a negative test on departure from these countries and their arrival in France, as well as a 10-day quarantine in France.

Vaccinated travelers can travel to France without restrictions

Matignon pointed out that: "Controls on airlines and shipping companies responsible for ensuring compliance with the new rules will be strengthened". "Random controls at land borders will also be increased."

Given the new measures adopted by Hexagon, all vaccinated travelers can travel without restrictions between France and Romania. France is on Romania's green list (list updated on July 15). Persons who are not vaccinated (complete scheme as detailed above) must present a negative COVID-19 test, either PCR or antigen (TAG), carried out at boarding / border crossing, no later than 72 hours before departure. The only antigen tests that can be presented are those that allow the detection of SARS-CoV-2 N protein.
