Greek Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias said the country expects more tourists in the 2022 summer season.
The minister said that this summer season, the level of arrivals will increase a lot. According to him, about 500 passengers will be from the United States.
"We have never had 500 passengers from America to Greece. The first flights were operated on March 000, from Atlanta, Chicago, Boston ", it is shown in the minister's statement.

At the same time, Greece has a new approach to the summer season. It practically extended the tourist season from April to November, the focus being on other types of trips, not only the classic stays. This new approach will lead to an increase in the number of tourists and, implicitly, in tourism revenues.
Since the beginning of this year, there have been positive trends in the Greek tourism sector. Athens alone recorded an estimated 273 million euros in the first two months, an increase of 306% over the same period last year.
We remind you that as of May 1, 2022, Greece has lifted travel restrictions. In addition to removing entry rules, Greece has lifted its internal restrictions. Passengers are allowed access to various public spaces, such as bars, cafes, restaurants, shopping malls and other events, without being required to provide one of the COVID permits.
