Greek authorities have been planning to withdraw covid permits since April. Despite the still high level of coronavirus spread in the country, almost all health requirements will be canceled by the tourist season, said epidemiologist Gikas Maiorkinis.

It is expected that by mid-April, COVID-19 certificates will no longer be required to visit shops, restaurants, cafes and other public leisure facilities. In addition, the use of personal protective equipment, such as medical masks, will also become optional until the summer.

However, with the increase in COVID-19 cases, all coronavirus applications will be restored immediately. Gikas Maiorkinis added that the mask regime and the covid permits will come into force again in October, after the end of the tourist season.

Recall that earlier, the Greek Ministry of Health planned to introduce health concessions in March. However, they should have been distributed only to citizens vaccinated against coronavirus. However, for the time being, the Greek government is prepared to ignore the vaccination status of locals and tourists, but only temporarily, until the end of the tourist season.
