HP is expanding its Converged Cloud solutions portfolio with new offerings that expand the power of cloud over infrastructure, applications and information, enabling organizations to accelerate innovation and improve their work speed.

In this context, the company announced its vision of a "Smart Cloud for Airlines", Which delivers integrated SaaS platforms (Software-as-a-Service) and IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service) that meet the requirements specific to customers in the airline industry, allowing airlines to quickly introduce new products and services to increase their revenue. Besides, the solution HP Converged Cloud Services for Airlines is the first hybrid cloud approach in the industry.

Converged Cloud Services for Airlines includes the solution HP Passenger Service, which combines HP's core solutions for the travel and transportation industries into a single integrated SaaS platform for bookings and travel. Airline Reservations and Departure Control, the two key services of the platform, helped HP customers carry over 500 millions of passengers last year. The new platform HP Airline Service Oriented Architecture provides airlines with a modern PaaS application development solution (Platform as a Service) that will generate a rapid development of the profit generating aerial products.

Type platform IaaS HP Enterprise Cloud Services - Virtual Private Cloud is delivered from state-of-the-art, secure, low-power data centers equipped with HP converged infrastructure technology. By using HP's per-server cloud operating offer for organizations, airlines are able to quickly adapt to their business needs, while reducing operational and capital expenditures.

Interjet, a Mexican airline, recently started using HP Enterprise Cloud Services - Virtual Private Cloud to manage the flight simulator usage schedule. The installed application manages the scheduling of training time intervals for both Interjet pilots and pilots of other companies. HP Enterprise Cloud Services - Virtual Private Cloud has thus helped Interjet expand or shrink resources as needed, thus increasing the efficiency of the company.

"Being an airline that offers affordable services, Interjet relies on technology innovations and flexibility to size its applications according to needs.", said Adrian Pineda, Chief Information Officer, Interjet. "Using the HP Enterprise Cloud Services - Virtual Private Cloud solution for hosting flight simulator programming applications has allowed us to reduce administrative costs and increase productivity, now being able to increase technological capacity as we develop."

Launched in April, HP Converged Cloud is the industry's first strategy and portfolio based on a single architecture that combines private cloud, outsourced cloud and public cloud, as well as traditional IT solutions, to create an environment that can quickly adapt to organizational requirements.
