Norwegian came out of bankruptcy protection and announced the resumption of flights from Sweden

As of May 31, 2021, Norwegian has resumed flights from Sweden and plans to expand the operational network to more than 30 destinations this year. Norwegian begins to rebuild its operational network after the bankruptcy protection came out on May 26, 2021.

Norwegian will start flying domestically to Umeå and Luleå from Stockholm, as well as internationally to Oslo and Malaga. In June, they will reopen several direct routes and, during the summer, the company will operate flights to 31 destinations from Stockholm Airport and to two destinations from Gothenburg Airport.

Norwegian has announced the resumption of flights from Sweden to 33 destinations.

In June, Norwegian will start operating flights from Stockholm to Visby, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Nice, Palma, Alicante, Barcelona, ​​Faro, Athens, Berlin, Burgas, Dubrovnik, Split, Chania, London, Riga and Sarajevo. Also from June, there will be direct flights from Gothenburg to Malaga and Alicante.

In July, the network will be expanded and other destinations will be added. There will be direct flights from Stockholm to Kiruna, Vilnius, Palermo, Rome, Rhodes, Prague, Larnaca, Krakow, Budapest and Belgrade.

In the process of restructuring, the company sold a large part of its fleet. Thus, the Norwegian fleet was reduced from 156 aircraft to only 51 aircraft. At the same time, the number of employees was reduced to approximately 3.300, which also means a reduction in debts. Norwegian gave up long-haul flights and will operate only regional, short and medium flights in Europe.
