It's official! Berlin Brandenburg International Airport (BER) will open on 31 October 2020. This date was proposed by the Board of Directors and approved by the Supervisory Board. As early as August 2019, we announced that there are great chances as Berlin Brandenburg is due to open in October 2020, but we still retain a dose of skepticism.

The opening of the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport will lead to the closure of the current Berlin Tegel International Airport. If all goes according to plan, Berlin - Tegel will close on November 8, 2020. The relocation process from TXL to BER will be done in 3 stages.

Related to Berlin Brandenburg, airport work is in the chart. The T1 and T2 terminals are working hard to fix the old and serious problems of functionality. The Board of Directors presented to the Supervisory Board the detailed plan of the works. In the first part of the 2020 year, the checks, the tests and the reception of the works are planned.

The fact that there is an official date makes us confident that things are on the right track. But so were 6-7 years ago. In my opinion, BER has been the biggest German failure for the last 10 years in the "airports" area.
