In 2012, TAP Portugal, the national airline of Portugal, managed to carry over 10 millions of passengers. The news is not new, but it is worth noting because not many European airlines enjoyed increases last year.
TP052 flight, off the route Belo Horizonte - Lisbon, carried the passenger with the number 10 million Christmas Eve. At that time, the increase was 4.4% compared to the same period of the year 2011, when it carried approximately 9752000 passengers.
In 2012, TAP Portugal registered significant increases on European routes, managing to carry with 300 000 more passengers than 2011. The best results were recorded on routes to the United States, increasing by 19.3% after opening the route to Miami. And in Africa it was good too, with the number of passengers increasing by over 10%. TAP Portugal operates many flights to Brazil, serving 10 different destinations. On these flights, the load rating was 83%.
In 2012, TAP Portugal opened the Lisbon-Bucharest route. It is operated 3 times a week, and from the summer of 2013 the frequency will increase to 6 flights a week.
