TAP Portugal has signed an agreement with Airbus to become the first operator of the new A330neo passenger aircraft and, therefore, the launch carrier for A330neo with the new Airspace by Airbus cabin concept.

In 2015, the airline concluded with Airbus a fleet renewal contract, which included an order for 14 A330-900neo aircraft.

Soon, passengers will have the opportunity to experience for the first time the Airspace by Airbus cabin when these aircraft enter service by the end of the 2017 year.

The relationship between Airbus and Portugal dates from 1987, when TAP, at that time Air Portugal, ordered three Airbus A310 aircraft. Today, TAP is an Airbus Exclusive and Portugal's largest customer with 61 aircraft currently in service.

Including 43 aircraft from the A320 family and 18 from the widebody family, with two additional A330 planes due to come into service in June to support the expansion of the company's long-haul operations. TAP also placed orders for aircraft from the latest generation A320neo and A330neo families.
