Qantas and British Airways, two well-known airlines in the industry, will split after 15 years of collaboration. The agreement will be valid until 31 March 2013. From April 2013, Qantas and Emirates will join forces in a new global alliance.

However, Qantas and British Airways will continue to work together on the oneworld alliance. The separation will be made without incident, by mutual agreement, and Qantas will rely heavily on the new partnership with Emirates.

After 31 March 2013, Qantas will take care of the passengers who will have tickets taken in the alliance with British Airways and will provide alternative services.
