Qatar Airways could prove to be the largest buyer of Boeing 777X aircraft. He wants to take all 60 planes ordered. Qatar Airways chief Akbar Al Baker said the first Boeing 777X will be received in 2022 and deliveries have been extended to 2029.

"It's a very good plane and we'll take them all to replace the fleet"Al Baker said. "We are happy that deliveries have been delayed, otherwise we would have had to take them in the midst of a COVID-19 pandemic.. "

Emirates was the largest customer with an order placed for 150 aircraft, but that order was reduced to 115 units and that is not certain either. Emirates has chosen to replace the future 777X with the current 787-9.

Initially, the first Boeing 777X was scheduled to be delivered at the end of 2019, but engine problems significantly slowed the test schedule. The FAA has also stepped up certification checks after the MAX blockade.

Boeing now has three 777X aircraft in its test program. According to reports, the flights are operated smoothly. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Boeing decided to reduce production levels for the next few years, even after the aircraft was certified.

Currently, this is the list of orders for Boeing 777X: ANA - 20, British Airways - 18, Cathay Pacific Airways - 21, Etihad - 25, Emirates - 115, Lufthansa - 20 Qatar Airways - 60, Singapore Airlines - 20 and 10 unidentified.
