Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin reported that the government intends to allocate 100 billion rubles (about $ 1.234 billion) to domestic airlines so that they can offset the costs of domestic flights. The measure will last six months.

"At the request of the president, the government will allocate 100 billion rubles to Russian airlines," said Mikhail Mishhustin. The measure will take effect in the coming days and will be in force for six months

"We hope that the measure will help keep passenger transport on domestic routes at the same level as last year, and that ticket prices for this period will remain affordable for tens of millions of Russian citizens, "he said.

He added that the Cabinet of Ministers will continue to work to support the air transport sector, which is facing serious challenges as a result of Western sanctions, which particularly affect the supply of spare parts and the maintenance of aircraft.
