The USO and Sitcpla unions to which RYANAIR employees in Spain are affiliated, have announced that they will take a break from striking until Monday, August 8. After that, if their demands are not resolved favorably, there will be periodic strikes lasting four days a week, every week until January 2023.

These unions have called new 24-hour strikes, from Monday to Thursday, from August 8 to January 7, 2023, due to the management's refusal to enter into any dialogue with them.

The latest stage of the strike, which ended on July 28, delayed hundreds of flights but there were no cancellations. Delays affected to a greater extent Palma de Mallorca (72 flights departing or arriving), Barcelona (43), Madrid (33) and Alicante (26). In Ibiza, 25 flights departed or arrived later than the scheduled time; in Málaga, 23; in Valencia, 21; in Seville, 17; and in Girona and Santiago de Compostela, 10 flights to each airport.

For its part, RYANAIR treats employee strikes lightly, noting that the effects are minimal. At the same time, RYANAIR officials said they have an agreement with the CCOO on employee wages, plus cabin crew rest and work schedules. It is a sign that it is possible to reach a common agreement and thus stop the strikes.
