RYANAIR opens two bases in Morocco

The largest European low-cost operator, RYANAIR, will open two bases in Morocco, the first outside the European Union. They will be in Fez (base 56) and Marrakech (base 57). From these bases will operate 3 aircraft to 37 routes, and the investment will amount to 210 millions of dollars. The expansion plan in Morocco also involves two new destinations: Essaouira and Rabat.

RYANAIR expects 2013 to operate 60 routes and transport approximately 2.5 million passengers to and from 8 Moroccan airports.

At Fez base it will allocate a plane and operate 15 routes (4 new routes: Lille, Nantes, Nimes and St Etienne). It is estimated that it will carry approximately 600 000 of passengers. Based in Marrakech, it will allocate 2 aircraft and operate 22 routes (7 new routes: Baden, Bergerac, Cuneo (Italy), Dole (France), Munich, Paris (Vatry) and Tours). It is estimated to carry approximately 1 million passengers this year. From Paris, Brussels and Marseille will operate to Essaouira and Rabat.
