Sweden imposes border controls until May 11, 2021

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs the Romanian citizens, who are transiting or intending to travel to Seudia, that the government authorities have announced the extension of the period for carrying out border controls until May 11, 2021.

It is recommended that Romanian citizens ensure that they have a valid identity card (passport or national identity card) on them at all times during the trip to and from the Kingdom of Sweden.

We note that all unnecessary entries into the territory of Sweden for citizens of countries outside the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and Switzerland have been suspended.

The measure is valid until 22 December 2020 and does not include a group of 10 third countries. Details of the states and categories of people exempted can be found here.

No entry restrictions apply to Romanian citizens. No mandatory quarantine or containment measures are required.

Romanian citizens who are on the territory of the Kingdom of Sweden can request consular assistance at the telephone number of the Romanian Embassy in Stockholm: +468205674, the calls being redirected to the Contact and Support Center of Romanian Citizens Abroad (CCSCRS) and taken over by Call Center operators , on a permanent basis.
