To reduce noise and pollution, Israel's airport authorities have announced that the use of four-engine aircraft will be banned from March 31, 2023.

The airport management said it has already informed the airlines about the decision. Starting with the 2023 summer season (March 31), they will no longer be allowed to land large aircraft at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv. And this is only part of a large-scale plan to improve the environment.

Following this decision, cargo flights will be more affected. EL AL, Israel's national carrier, has phased out Boeing 747s, instead using Boeing 777s and 787s for long-haul flights.
