Since February 9, the Czech Republic has given up the EU COVID digital certificate for access to restaurants, bars and other public places! The Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala said the country had removed the requirement to present a vaccination or recovery certificate for access to sporting and cultural events, as well as other services, including restaurants and bars.

However, he stressed that citizens, as well as travelers visiting the country, will continue to be required to wear masks when frequenting inland public areas.

The Czech Minister of Health, Vlastimil Válek, also announced the news. He said that from February 9, all people will be able to enter any public unit without a COVID-19 certificate, also suggesting that they intend to eliminate the testing requirement. “The first step is to cancel the certificates; another is the end of the general test ", said Válek.

With regard to the remaining restrictions, the Czech Ministry of Health has stated that it intends to end the pandemic emergency by the second half of February.

According to an official statement issued by the Czech Ministry of Health, the authorities will decide on the measures they will relax based on COVID-19 data, but also on the basis of infection and vaccination rates.
