The Netherlands is tightening entry restrictions for travelers from Bulgaria, Norway and Croatia

The Dutch authorities have announced that from 21 August, travelers arriving from Bulgaria, Norway and the Jadranska Hrvatska region of Croatia will be subject to the rules of entry into the Netherlands.

Consequently, all persons traveling from Bulgaria, Norway and the Croatian region will be required to hold an EU COVID-19 digital passport in order to be allowed to enter the Netherlands. Until now, travelers arriving from the two countries and the Croatian region could enter the Netherlands without being subject to any restrictions.

However, from 21 August, all persons entering one of these areas will be required to provide proof of vaccination against Coronavirus, a negative test result or medical evidence that the holder has recovered from COVID-19 disease. in the last six months. .

"You must show proof of vaccination, proof of recovery or a negative test result (this includes the COVID digital certificate) if you are traveling from a high risk EU / Schengen country / region" , said the Dutch authorities.

He also mentioned that travelers intending to present a vaccination certificate should ensure that the document indicates that they have been immunized with one of the vaccines recognized by the country's authorities - a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) or World Health Organization (WHO).

In addition, those who decide to arrive in the Netherlands by air must complete a health declaration form and carry it with them at all times. For people who have no evidence of recovery or vaccination, the Dutch government has suggested that everyone take a COVID-19 test two days after arrival and another five days after arrival.

With the exception of Bulgaria, Norway and the Croatian region, which will recently be added to the list of high-risk areas, this category already includes the following countries:

For now, Romania is not on the list of countries with a high pandemic risk. Romania has been placed on the list of "green" states by the Dutch authorities. Thus, people arriving from Romania to the Netherlands do not have to present proof of vaccination or a molecular test such as PCR / antigen before boarding and will not be quarantined.
