Niki Lauda, founder of FlyNiki and Laudamotion, has died
Niki Lauda, multiple Formula 1 champion and founder of FlyNiki and Laudamotion airlines, has died at the age of 70. The death was confirmed by the family. Niki Lauda died during sleep, on the night between 20 and 21 May, after a period of worsening health.

The legendary Austrian, one of the most famous pilots of Formula 1, took the title for Ferrari in 1975 and 1977 and McLaren in 1984. It will remain in the memory of many for the determination with which he managed to return to the circuit, after suffering serious injuries following the accident at the German Grand Prix (1976).
For aircraft and flight enthusiasts, Niki Lauda was the man who set up the FlyNiki (Niki) and Laudamotion airlines, some of Europe's best-known low-cost airlines.
