A new terminal will be built at Iasi Airport
By finalizing, in March 2021, the project regarding the extension of the operating platform at Iași Airport, the way is opened for a new investment in the airport infrastructure. Authorities in Iasi have announced plans to build a new terminal at Iasi International Airport.
The first step is to build a new passenger terminal, with an area of 30.000 square meters, almost 10 times larger than the current T3, as well as building a parking lot.
The terminal will be on three levels and will have a processing capacity of 3,5 million passengers per year, until 2045.
Q4 should be ready by December 2023, and the rest of the project will be implemented in the coming years, depending on needs and the evolution of air traffic.
The new construction will be linked to a number of facilities such as hotels, restaurants. The new project is expected to cover the needs of the airport over the next 20 years.
The total costs are estimated at 80 million euros, of which 75% are non-reimbursable funds, which will be allocated through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program (POIM).
