Tesla Model X P100D suits Boeing Dreamliner Qantas (Video)
A Tesla Model X P100D sued a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner Qantas aircraft. Tesla wanted to demonstrate the performance of the Model X P100D electric car.
Probably envious of the record Porsche Cayenne S Diesel, which handled an Airbus A380 Air France, Elon Musk from Tesla decided to take the challenge and put a Tesla Model X P100D on a large plane.
Tesla Model X P100D (100kWh), with a towing capacity of 2,25 tonnes, managed to handle the Qantas Dreamliner over a distance of 300 meters. Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft has a weight of 130 tons when empty.
This performance entered the Book of Records in the 3 position, after towing the Airbus A380 (285 tons) by Porsche Cayenne S Diesel and an Illyushin Il-76 by 170 tons, which was pulled by a Nissan Patrol in 2013. But in the first position among electric cars.
Tesla Model X P100D treated a Boeing Dreamliner
This is not the first time Qantas and Tesla have faced challenges. In April 2016, a Boeing 737-800 competed with a P90D S. Oneworld member Qantas uses electric slots to move planes to Sydney and Canberra airports. The action is part of its plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
