A weekend on Prahova Valley - #calatorpevaleaprahova in pictures - photo report
One week ago, specifically during the period 25-27 October 2013, I accepted the challenge of being #calatorpevaleaprahovei. The event was organized by Tourism Market and supported by Hotel Cumpatu, Zamora Adventure Park Getaways, Halewood Wineries, Zamora Traditional Products.
10 travel bloggers (including myself) and 3 Tourism Market organizers set off on a weekend adventure in the Prahova Valley. In the menu we had: Creasta Baiului, traditional sheepfold, Escapade Adventure Park Zamora, Cantacuzino Castle, Halewood wineries, hiking on the Foam Valley and many other surprises.
To better illustrate the weekend spent on Prahova Valley, I chose to do a photoreport. The images make as many as a thousand words. I hope you have the pleasure and patience to take a look at the photos below. In order not to scare you too much, I announce you that 65 are carefully selected photos.
It all started on Friday evening, at about 17.00, when we set off for Sinaia. Since Bucharest, I look after airplanes! At Otopeni, I was surprised to see the landing of an A319 Alitalia, which passed over our car.
After about 3 hours, we arrived at Hotel Cumpătu **** - Sinaia, and here we were greeted by warm and welcoming people, including Mrs. Toncu Mariana, the hotel manager. Among the few places where people smile from the reception.
Then we gathered for a glass of water and a refined one in the lobby of the hotel.
We started to "socialize" with the impressive collection of stuffed animals.
After we all got together, dinner followed.
The first evening ended with many stories told in a glass of wine. I did not linger too much, the fatigue of the day making its presence felt.
Saturday started with a beautiful view of the hotel's inner courtyard.
And with the mountains in the heat of the morning sun!
After a hearty breakfast, we all gathered in front of the hotel
We boarded the cars of the Escapade Adventure Park Zamora and headed for Creasta Baiului!
At one point, I left the paved road and entered a forest road.
And we started climbing through the Baiului Mountains!
Until I got to the first stop for photos.
Azuga resort seen from the mountain!
After a little more socializing and a group photo…
We got in the cars and started towards Creasta Baiului, the first objective on the agenda!
I also soiled the car. That's right off-road.
A story with an indescribable landscape! Bucegi in all their splendor!
Some played, others photographed.
After about 30 minutes, we headed for Stana Zamora.
Some have grazed on a haystack. Childhood memories!
Others played with the animals in the yard.
I also went through the kitchen.
Also here we had lunch with traditional Zamora products: bulb, sheep pastry, some cheese.
After a hearty meal, we set off for Escapade Adventure Park - Zamora in Busteni. No matter how small the boyar is, he plays a little after dinner.
Some braver ones climbed through the trees.
Others preferred to be more earthy - the dwarf's walk.
Most adventurers chose the Tyrolean.
It was pretty tiring and full of adrenaline.
After such an effort, we needed something to relax. So I went to the Cantacuzino Castle for a cake and a tour of the castle.
In the evening it was over the Prahova Valley, and the temperatures were decreasing from one hour to another. Carmina and Ina found a way to warm up.
He was crossing the Caraiman at dusk.
Cantacuzino Castle Tour. I notice that my Canyon battery is on the "connecting people" system.
We ended the day with a boiled wine, around a campfire organized in the hotel yard. I said #bancuridebusiness, we relaxed and told until the boiled wine was over.
Can you still? Do you still have patience? Come on and Sunday, the 3 day of #calatorpevaleaprahovei. I started the day with a visit to the Halewood Cellars.
There was a tasting of sparkling wines. Now you have the opportunity to see a handful of bloggers at work, even on Sundays.
And a walk through a small winery museum.
Others escaped to the wine shop chosen from all over the world.
And if we were still in the mountains, it was a pity to leave without hiking. So I took the foamy Valley at a pace.
With chiu, with alas, I arrived.
This is how our program ended on the Prahova Valley. There followed the spiced lunch with stories, we did our luggage, we embraced our parting and we headed for Bucharest. On my return, I did not escape the traditional blockade from Sinaia-Comarnic.
Despite some shortcomings, the Prahova Valley has a great tourism potential. As seen above, there is no risk of getting bored if you choose to spend a weekend in the mountains. There are castles and museums to visit, there are amusement parks, you can go hiking, you can climb the mountain ridges, you have the cable car, you can visit a traditional or more commercial sheep, it would not spoil a wine tasting, etc. It is important to want to do something else besides the state at the hotel, eat and sleep. Of course, they always want such people who will prefer a quiet and activity-free weekend.
For me it was a pleasure to rediscover the Prahova Valley, to photograph the mountains in autumn cloak and to be part of a wonderful group of travel bloggers. I will come back with more information about each goal separately. Until then, I invite you to watch photo albums (1, 2, 3).
The photos were taken with:
- Canon 1100D + standard 18-55 mm lens + Canon EF 70-200mm f / 2.8L IS II USM telephoto lens
- Canon PowerShot G16
- Smartphone HTC One MAX
During the event #calatorpevaleaprahovei, I typed on one ultrabook ASUS Zenbook UX301.
