About 40% of passengers applaud the landing

According to a Skyscanner study, about 40% of passengers applaud the landing, and the Italians drive second to this chapter. Most applaud the pilot when the plane hits the ground, but the Italians are more "theatrical". I think the Romanians applaud the most, regardless of route and flight, but let's not contradict the study.

Of course, there are passengers who hate applause, and I'm one of them. When I first flew, in 2011, I had the "joy" to hear the first applause on landing at Amsterdam airport.

It was a shocking moment for me and I felt a little awkward, being among the few who did not applaud and did not get up from my chair until the right time. And then I asked myself, "What causes people to applaud the landing?".

The passengers applaud the landing

According to the study, most have stated that it is an act of thanks to the cabin crew and pilots. But looking at things in depth, we can see that many applaud to escape the tension accumulated during the flight. And others in superstition.

Some applauded the times when the planes were not so safe, and passengers were happy when they arrived at their destination. Currently, although the plane is considered the safest means of transport, many passengers are afraid of flight and it is not easy for them to travel by air.

For them, the moment the plane reaches the ground is one of calm and relaxation, and the applause is a form of externalization of tensions. Going by all the reasons mentioned above, I think the applause is not ok, not when the flight is good, when everything goes according to plan.

From my point of view, the act of thanks for the cabin crew and pilots can be brought by observing them, listening to the advice and respecting the other passengers on the plane.

Listening to cabin crew members means we respect their work as humans. And if we really want to thank them, we can do it personally on the descent.

The final applause seems to me to be scathing and not necessarily an act of thanks. After all, the pilots and cabin crew do their job. They are trained and trained for this job, as most of us are prepared to practice different other trades.

Have you applauded a bus driver, a taxi driver, a salesman, a sailor, a waltz? I do not think! Maybe for extraordinary merits or special facts, but not for his daily work.

My advice is to stop applauding, but to be more obedient, to respect those around you and to respect those who care for you. Cabin crew members are not waiters and bartenders. Their role is to provide you with the most enjoyable and safe flight possible.

Why do you applaud?

An article copied from sincere foreign sites, you unfortunately mastered it with "personal advice".
    Sad.

Florin, I think I mentioned the source of the article and who did the study. And the ideas and advice we give are ours. If you read more carefully, it would be better

EXTRAORDINARY, BUT YOU ASKED THEM IF THEY APPRECIATE THE APPLAUSE, THE FACT THAT THE PLANE IS THE SAFEST MEANS OF TRANSPORT IS DUE TO THE MOST PERSONNEL AND IT DESERVES ALL THE APPLAUSE FOR THIS.

Every job has pluses and minuses, it has risks. We should all be applauded if we think about it. And yes, many do not appreciate the applause, and the pilots do not hear them :).

Instead of applause, better words of thanks for the descent and more attention on the plane. Respect means much more than applause.
