Wizz Air Pilot Academy in the first generation of cadets

Wizz Air recently celebrated the start of its first Pilot Academy course in collaboration with Tréner Kft., The first contracted pilot school, an institution located in the city of Nyiregyhaza, Hungary.

Over the next 21 months, the cadets will learn and develop the skills needed to become top-of-the-line pilots and in this way support the significant expansion of Wizz Air.

The Wizz Air Pilot Academy, launched in 2017, is currently only available to Polish residents and offers young adults the unique opportunity to obtain a pilot's license on commercial flights without prior flying experience.

As part of the program, Wizz Air collaborates with pilot training organizations to provide quality education to Wizz Air students. The first two pilot training and training schools are Tréner Kft. From Hungary and Egnatia Aviation Ltd. from Greece.

The purpose of the airline is to expand its program in the coming months, by collaborating with several flight schools, but also by launching the program in other countries in Central and Eastern Europe.

During the opening ceremony, the group was welcomed by Wizz Air members, but also by the management team of the Tréner school, after which future Wizz Air pilots were officially handed their pilot uniforms and presented to the Nyiregyhaza school. The trainees will begin an extended training of 750 hours on the ground, 60 hours of simulator and 145 hours of flight training.

Those who successfully complete Wizz Air Pilot Academy courses and meet all conditions and requirements will have the opportunity to hire Wizz Air as a Pilot Trainee. They will follow advanced trainings, after which they will be able to continue their career as co-pilots flying on Airbus A320 aircraft on the WIZZ network.
