The Boeing 737-500 Sriwijaya Air (PK-CLC) aircraft, which operated flight SJ182 (Jakarta - Pontianak), crashed shortly after takeoff.

Flight tracking data suggests that the aircraft, a Boeing 737-500, took off from runway 35R at 14:35 (07:35 UTC). He made a right turn, crossing the shore line at 14:39. It reached an altitude of about FL110 before entering a rapid descent. The last position was recorded at 14:40 (07:40 UTC).

There were 62 people on board (46 adults, 7 children, 3 infants and 6 crew members).

"Basarnas" from Indonesia (search and rescue agency) and KNKT (Indonesian transport safety organization) confirm that a search and rescue is underway for the missing Boeing 737-500 in the Java Sea.

Some images of the wreckage of the aircraft appeared. It appears that the plane disintegrated on impact with the water.
