Aeroflot cancels all flights to Europe
Aeroflot has decided to cancel all flights to Europe starting Monday, February 28th.
The airline has decided to stop all flights until further notice, following the decision of many countries to close their airspace in protest of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
European nations and Canada decided on Sunday to close its airspace for Russian aircraft. This is an unprecedented step, aimed at getting President Vladimir Putin to end his invasion of Ukraine. This invasion was the largest attack on a European state since World War II.
With no access to Russia's airways, experts say carriers will have to divert flights south. In this way, they will also have to avoid areas of tension in the Middle East.
