The end of the year 2012 comes with a tragedy for the Russian airline Red Wings. A low-cost Tupolev Tu-204 aircraft landed on the runway of Vnukovo Airport and caught fire. Russian sources announce 4 dead and 4 seriously injured, all of them crew members.

After the first research, it seems that this is a pilot error. The plane was coming from the Czech Republic and had to operate an emergency landing. In this process, the aircraft exited the runway, broke into 3 and caught fire. The crash occurred around local time 16: 35 (12: 35 GMT).

The statements are contradictory between Russian officials and international organizations. Some say that there were 12 people, 8 passengers and 4 crew members aboard the plane. Others say there were only 8 people, the crew members.

Vnukovo Airport was closed for 3 hours, and all air travel was diverted to Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo airports. The freeway was blocked to allow the intervention crews access.

The Tupolev Tu-204 aircraft is the equivalent of a Boeing 757. The model was introduced to the market in 1980, replacing the old TU-154 model. It can carry up to 210 passengers, over a distance of 4300 kilometers. To date, Tupolev Tu-204 aircraft have not been involved in casualties.

Sorine, did you stop? It has nothing to do with Boieng 757.
TU-204 and the rabla repaired. That's all.

We are not talking qualitatively! The resemblance is purely at the level of capacity and size. Somewhere she had to be on the market too! The point is that 204 was not involved in accidents with victims until the end of 2012 and has some age on the market!
