The Henri Coandă Bucharest International Airport was ranked by the Airports Council International-Europe in third place in the European top of the airports that registered the highest increase in air traffic in the first quarter of the year 2015, in the category of airports that had between 5 and 10 million passengers.

Milan Orio al Serio, Porto and Henri Coandă Bucharest airports were ranked in the first three places in this category, followed by Heraklion and Berlin Schonefeld airports.

Henri Coanda Airport was ranked by the Airports Council International-Europe and among the top European airports with the highest increase in air traffic in March, ranking fourth in the 5 - 10 million passengers category.

In the first quarter of 2015, in the category of airports with over 25 of millions of passengers, the ranking is: Madrid, Rome Fiumicino and London Gatwick, Barcelona, ​​Istanbul Ataturk and Copenhagen. In the category 10 - 25 millions of passengers, the first places were the airports Athens, London Stansted, Dublin, Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen and Lisbon, and in the category under 5 million passengers, the classification is: Chania (Greece), Zadar ( Croatia), Thessaloniki (Greece), Shannon (Ireland), Santorini (Greece).

Henri Coandă Bucharest International Airport recorded, during the first quarter of the year, 2015, record air traffic, 1.808.332 passengers and 21.532 aircraft movements (landings and take-offs). Compared to the same period last year, the number of passengers who passed AIHCB in the first three months of 2015 increased by 15,5%. The evolution of the number of passengers at the two airports of the National Company Bucharest Airports significantly outweighs the general trend of 5,2%, registered at European level.

Henri Coandă Airport also registered an increase in the number of aircraft movements, exceeding in this regard the European trend, which reached 1,6%. Thus, in the first three months of the year 2015, the number of aircraft movements on AIHCB increased by 12,6% compared to the same period last year.

At Henri Coandă Bucharest International Airport, 31 currently operates airlines, which transports passengers to 70 from destinations. In the year 2014, two new airlines, Ryanair and Air Baltic, started operating on AIHCB.
