Air Canada stated that, following the Transport Canada Airworthiness Directive (TC) and the lifting of the flight ban for 737 MAX on January 20, 2021, the company decided to resume commercial operations with this type of aircraft as of February 1, 2021.

All flights will be operated in accordance with Air Canada's biosecurity protocols, centered around the Air Canada CleanCare + program.

Starting February 1, 737 MAX Air Canada will operate selected flights between Toronto and Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Edmonton, Winnipeg.

Air Canada has 24 Boeing 737 MAX 8s, which have a capacity of 169 passengers, with 16 seats in Business class and 153 seats in Economy class. There is no lack of entertainment system offered free of charge to every passenger.

Since the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft could be returned to operational service in December 2020, more than 1.025 flights have been operated safely by airlines around the world.
