On October 31, Boeing delivered an 777-300ER aircraft to Air China, one of the largest airlines in the People's Republic of China. The aircraft is the 10 of the 19 ordered and marks the 40 years of collaboration between Boeing and Air China.

The moment was marked by the personalization of the aircraft with a special livery "Smiling Faces". 40 smiling faces were drawn on the fuselage of the plane, which were chosen following a competition organized on social media by the two companies.

Air China will use the new Boeing 777-300ER to expand the number of medium and long-haul routes, including operating and opening new direct flights to Frankfurt, London and Paris. The Chinese operator, a member of the Star Alliance, is currently operating 167 Boeing aircraft, representing 55% of its fleet.

The Boeing 777 aircraft model was ordered over 60 by air carriers, being operational over 1380 units.
