In June, Air France will operate about 15% of its normal flights at this time of year.

Wearing a mask is mandatory at the airport and on board the aircraft

All frequencies included in Air France's new flight schedule will be conducted with enhanced safety measures, including ensuring social distance at check-in, boarding and disembarkation, mandatory wearing of a protective mask at the airport and aircraft, and checking the temperature of passengers on boarding. .

The company recommends arriving at the airport at least 3 hours before the scheduled time of departure, in order to complete in time all check-in formalities, checking hand luggage and travel documents. Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport will provide the installation of 6 tents for check in and thermal scanning of passengers. Only 12 gates will be used for boarding, thus ensuring the social distance of passengers.

Increased social segregation and hygiene measures

Physical distance on board will be implemented, where possible. When the occupancy of an aircraft is low, as much space as possible will be created around the passenger, keeping the seats empty. Aircraft cleaning procedures will take place daily, with disinfection of all surfaces that come into contact with passengers, such as armrests, tables, screens, etc. It is desired to introduce a specific procedure for disinfecting Air France aircraft by spraying an approved virucidal product with an effective duration of ten days.

To limit the interaction between crew and passengers, on domestic flights and short flights in Europe, meal and beverage services have been suspended. On long-haul flights, cabin service is limited and individually packaged products will be used.

In addition, the cabin air is renewed every 3 minutes. The air recycling system on board Air France aircraft is equipped with "high efficiency air filters" or HEPA filters, identical to those used in hospital operating rooms. These filters extract more than 99.99% of the smallest viruses, thus ensuring that the cabin air meets quality standards. Coronavirus viruses, ranging in size from 0,08 to 0,16 micrometers, are filtered through HEPA filters.

We are optimistic, but at the same time realistic. Given that the COVID-19 pandemic is in full swing, we recommend caution and patience. Travel responsibly! We are also waiting to see the new travel conditions, which will be imposed by the authorities for social distancing.
