2016 was a very good year for Air Serbia. After privatization and rebranding of 2013, the Serbian carrier has gone through a series of positive transformations.

2.62 million passengers carried in 2016

After a hard time and many sacrifices, Air Serbia begins to reap the fruits. The number of passengers increased from year to year. In 2016, they were transported 2.62 million passengers, with 3% more than 2015. Aircraft loading increased to 72.4% (70.7% to 2015).

Belgrade - New York with Air Serbia

Air Serbia fleet has reached 21 of aircraft operational: 8 x A319; 2 x A320; 1 x A330; 6 x ATR 72; 4 x 737. It has 10 Airbus A320neo aircraft on order, which are to be received between 2018 and 2020.

The operational network has grown to 44 of destinations, the 5 new routes launched being: New York (USA); St. Petersburg in Russia, Kiev in Ukraine, Hamburg in Germany and Ohrid in Macedonia.

In 2016, Air Serbia and Aviolet (a charter company) operated 33 171 of flights (1 213 charter flights operated by Aviolet in the summer season).

Dane Kondic, Chief Executive Officer of Air Serbia, is pleased with the evolution of the air carrier in 2016. The development plan will also be implemented in 2017, the target being the commercial objective set by Etihad Airways and the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
