Air Serbia started a new service between Geneva and Belgrade on March 1, 2021. The airline will operate two flights a week and the route will be available throughout the year. The flights will be performed with Airbus A319 aircraft with a capacity of 144 seats.

Geneva has been announced as one of the six new destinations since last year, but this plan was temporarily abandoned due to the coronavirus pandemic. "We are closely following all changes in travel restrictions and demand, trying to act quickly and take advantage of all the opportunities that are opening up on the market.", said Jiri Marek, General Manager of Sales and Strategy of Air Serbia.

Monday's flights offer good connectivity from Geneva to other destinations on the airline's network, including Larnaca, Moscow, Podgorica, Sarajevo, Skopje, Sofia, Thessaloniki, Tirana and Tivat.

The flights will take place on Mondays and Fridays, as follows:

JU0470 Belgrade 07:00 - 09:05 Geneva months
JU0471 Geneva 09:50 - 11:45 Belgrade Monday

JU0474 Belgrade 17:40 - 19:45 Geneva Friday
JU0475 Geneva 20:30 - 22:25 Belgrade Friday

A high demand for this route has been identified, in particular, due to the very important Serbian community established in Geneva. Indeed, more than 30.000 Serb citizens live in western Switzerland or France. The link between the Serbian capital and the diplomatic activity taking place in Geneva is also important.

The inaugural flight was greeted with the traditional water greeting at Geneva Airport, with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by representatives of the airline and the airport, including André Schneider, CEO of Genève Aéroport and Bojan Aranđelović, Chief Planning Officer.
